ADHD Assessment for Adults

Get clarity, confirm your experiences, and start finding real solutions

If you’ve spent years wondering why things feel harder for you—like focus, motivation, or follow-through—an ADHD assessment can help you finally get answers.

Not Knowing (with Certainty) Can Be Frustrating

For many adults, ADHD has been a lifelong companion. Even if it’s never been named.

Instead, it’s felt like:

  • feeling “lazy” despite constant effort
  • chronic underachievement
  • forgetfulness
  • shame

Those who have undiagnosed ADHD might have spent years masking, overcompensating, or wondering why they can’t seem to do things that other people find easy.

It can be easy to believe something is wrong when in reality, your brain just works differently.

A proper ADHD assessment can provide relief, understanding, and a path forward.

It’s not about labeling. It’s about clarity.

If you’ve made it this far, something in you knows it’s time to understand yourself better. An assessment is a powerful first step toward feeling seen and supported – click the button below to schedule your assessment.

As Seen On…

An ADHD Assessment Can Help You Make Sense of Your Life Experiences

An adult ADHD assessment isn’t just about a diagnosis. It’s about uncovering patterns, understanding how your brain works, and building a foundation for growth.

I’ve helped many adults identify ADHD and move from confusion to clarity. A formal assessment can also support your eligibility for workplace or academic accommodations, help you make informed decisions about medication or therapy, and reduce the burden of self-doubt.

You don’t have to keep guessing. Let’s bring your experience into focus.

What Can You Expect During Your ADHD Assessment?

A collaborative process that respects your experience

Your assessment is tailored to your concerns, background, and how ADHD symptoms show up in your life today. I don’t take a one-size-fits-all approach.

You’ll complete ADHD-specific assessment tools designed to measure focus, impulsivity, time management, and executive functioning.

We’ll explore your history and current challenges using evidence-based techniques to identify patterns consistent with ADHD.

Whether you’re seeking personal insight or documentation for accommodations, we’ll align the assessment process with your intended outcomes.

You’ll gain a deeper understanding of how ADHD operates neurologically, behaviorally, and emotionally. This helps you make informed choices moving forward.

We highlight your cognitive and emotional strengths (not just challenges) so you walk away with a balanced, empowering picture of how your brain works.

At the end of the process, you’ll receive personalized recommendations. If helpful, we’ll also discuss involving support systems like partners, family, or providers.

An ADHD Therapist for You

Jesse Kauffman

ADHD Therapist and Owner of Atelier Therapy

I’m Jesse Kauffman, a licensed psychotherapist specializing in ADHD. I believe in intuition and cherish the divergent path.

Because I’ve lived with ADHD, I know how it feels in my mind and body. It’s like you’re out-of-sync with the world, always worried about what you’re missing and how it might interfere with your life and relationships. Is it the same for you?

I once saw ADHD as my weakness. Today I see that ADHD has given me an acute perceptive awareness of others that is a great strength, especially to my therapy clients.

If you can’t fly, then run. If you can’t run, then walk. If you can’t walk, then crawl, but whatever you do, you have to keep moving forward

― Martin Luther King Jr.

$2,000 flat fee

  • 1.5 to 2-hour clinical interview
  • ADHD and Autism assessment tools
  • Full diagnostic report with test results and personalized recommendations

Note: I am licensed to provide assessments in California, Colorado, and Michigan. I cannot currently assess clients in Wisconsin.

Official ADHD testing includes a structured clinical interview, validated assessment tools, and a review of your history and current symptoms. It’s a collaborative process designed to understand how ADHD shows up in your life and whether a diagnosis fits. You’ll leave with clarity, insight, and clear next steps. Whether you’re seeking personal understanding or formal accommodations, you’re in the right place.

Many adults wonder this exact thing, and a formal assessment is the best way to find out. ADHD and autism can overlap, and self-diagnosis only goes so far. If you’re asking this question, now is the right time to get answers. I offer a structured, neurodiversity affirming, and respectful process to help you gain clarity.

Yes. A diagnosis can help you understand yourself more clearly, reduce self-blame, and guide your decisions about therapy, medication, and accommodations. Even if you’re not seeking official documentation, the insight alone can be life-changing. Getting assessed is a powerful step toward making your life work better for you.

Adult ADHD often shows up as difficulty focusing, restlessness, procrastination, poor time management, forgetfulness, or emotional reactivity. Many adults with ADHD have learned to mask symptoms, which can make it harder to recognize. If daily life feels harder than it should, an assessment can help you understand why.

Most assessments are completed in one session. This can be either a 1-hour informal or a 1.5 to 2-hour formal evaluation. After your session, you’ll receive your results and follow-up materials within a few days. No drawn-out process, no unnecessary delays. Just answers and clarity.

I don’t accept insurance. Many clients actually prefer this, since paying privately gives you more privacy, avoids a formal diagnosis being on your permanent medical record, and keeps the process fully in your control. You also won’t need a referral or approval from your insurance company.

I offer two options: a $750 informal assessment for those seeking personal clarity (not documentation), and a $2000 formal assessment that includes ADHD and autism testing, a full diagnostic report, and recommendations. The formal option is ideal if you need documentation for school or work accommodations. Both options are available to clients in CA, CO, and MI.

Scheduling is easy. Click the button on this page to request your assessment. I will contact you with scheduling and other information, and things will flow smoothly from there. I offer online assessments for residents of California, Colorado, and Michigan.
